Bruno Ploumhans
Welcome! I am Bruno Ploumhans, PhD student at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. I work in the Mathematics for materials modelling (MatMat) group of Prof. Michael Herbst.
My current research interests are error control and algorithmic differentiation in the context of density functional theory (DFT). For more details see the research showcase notebooks from the MatMat group. This research is enabled by the DFTK.jl plane-wave DFT software package of which I am a regular contributor.
On the side I am also a Minecraft modder, with mods totaling over 350M downloads. I created Modern Industrialization with a friend and maintain Applied Energistics 2 and Powah! as well as the NeoForge modding platform itself. I also used to contribute to the Fabric modding platform.
